When AI tools were available to the masses I was amazed by how much stuff I could create without spending that much time on it. At work I use it a lot for troubleshooting as SRE. But then for personal life I’ve been using it less and less.
Today I watched a video by GamersNexus about how the CEOs of AI companies are greedy and it’s clearly that all they want is money no matter the cost. It’s pretty clear that they want to farm that money now and they don’t really care about the consequences of it. Lot’s of jobs are being affected and companies just prefer adding AI instead of hiring new people that really need the job and can do good. Also what I truly hate is that they gaslight you by saying it’s going to be like the best you can do with your data, asking AI all the tiem for everything, which clearly is for data collection and inference use. in my experience, if it’s not code, usually questions can be answered by myself; AI just reassures you.
Now I consider myself against the current use of AI outside coding or certain automations. It’s filling the internet with AI slop across blogs and social media like YouTube, LinkedIn (yuck), X etc. YouTube increased the requirements needed for monetize your channel and it may be due to the terrific amount of AI channels that are just farming money and it’s an unfair competition with humans. We’ll see how this trend goes but doesn’t seem it’s going to end well.
